How well are we doing? 7% of AusIMM (no increase since 2004)
Women comprise: ~45% of national workforce ~18% of mining industry workforce ~18% of technical & professional mining workforce ~3% of site-based mining workforce and 7% of AusIMM (no increase since 2004) National workforce gender pay gap 19% Mining industry gender pay gap 28% WHY?

Varied meeting times Topics for the whole professional Topics for less traditional disciplines Work with local Wimnet networking groups (WIMWA, WIMARQ etc) Encourage women speakers and chairs of sessions at conferences

Promote loyalty and pride in the industry – a sense of belonging, involvement Encourage women to join AusIMM Encourage women to upgrade their membership Nominate outstanding women for awards (branch service, other AusIMM awards) Encourage women to mentor others

Present research outcomes possible root causes, suggested improvements from female members and ex-members, membership statistics and trends Branch initiatives Present what has worked in specific branches Brainstorm other improvement ideas
