We communicate with your student often through FGCU Community & Conduct Expectations Students are responsible for knowing and adhering to community expectations Roommate Relationships/Expectations Student Centered Business We enforce deadlines Exceptions are not commonly made Our policies reflect the university academic calendar and provide latitude for appropriate situations E.g., graduates can move out later without extra cost but a student whose lease starts a week late cannot We communicate with students first Cannot always give you all the information you seek. Simple “OK” from your student will do We will provide your student with the information he/she needs. Need to check AND his/her on campus mailbox Community Expectations Community Guidebook and Student Code of Conduct – students should be familiar with policies/procedures Cannot discipline or remove another student based on anonymous report Roommates Mention roommate agreements & mediation RA is a resource to setting up reasonable expectations Communication, communication, communication Cannot guarantee your student will have a positive roommate relationship
