The 7 Beatitudes of Revelation

Mathew 5:1-11 1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Jesus states the character quality and the benefit of having this quality. We need all of the character qualities to enter the kingdom of heaven. 1 Corinthians 6: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Pronounces the benefits of the spiritual and way of righteousness! Opposite of what many desire and perceive today! Common method and message of Jesus! He taught them HIS doctrine!

In this lesson we will focus on 7 beatitudes of Revelation! All of these “beatitudes” are what our attitudes must be to be approved of God!

“Beatitude” Defined Supreme blessedness; exalted happiness.
Any of the declarations of blessedness pronounced by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. Dictionary.com “Blessed” - makarios, mak-ar'-ee-os - a prolonged form of the poetical makar (meaning the same); supremely blest; by extension, fortunate, well off:-- blessed, happy(X -ier). - Strong Same word used by Jesus in the sermon on the mount.

Revelation 14:13 2 “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” Those “faithful unto death”…. Revelation 16:15 3 “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” Those who watch and remain pure until death or the Lord’s coming will be blessed! Revelation 3:3-8, 18 2 Peter 3:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:2 1 John 3:1-3; Matthew 24:42-46 Rev. 3:3-4, READ 2 Pet. 3:10 - But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and thae works that are therein shall be burned up. 1 Thess. 5:2 - For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 1 Jn. 3:1-3 - Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Revelation 19:9 4 “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” The body of Christ are those who have heard and obeyed the gospel! They are blessed! Matthew 22:1-14 2 Thessalonians 2:14; 1 Thessalonians 2:12 1 Peter 5:10 Matt. 22: READ - “called” - from Gk Kletos (klay-tos‘) - invited, i.e. appointed, or (specially), a saint:--called. 2 Thess. 2:14 - Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess. 2:12 - That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. 1 Peter 5:10 - But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. “Called” - kalew kaleo, - to "call" (properly, aloud, but used in a variety of applications, directly or otherwise):--bid, call (forth), (whose, whose sur-)name (was (called)).

Revelation 20:6 5 “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” Those raised in the first resurrection will be free from the power of the second death and will reign with Christ! Mark 16:15-16; Romans 6:4-6, 16-18 Revelation 21:8 1 Peter 2:5-11; 4:13 Mk. 16: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Rom. 6:4-6 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. Rev. 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 1 Pet 2: READ 1 Pet. 4:13 - But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Revelation 22:7 6 “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” Are blessed if we observe and obey what is written! Luke 10:17-20 2 John 9; Hebrews 5:8-9 Revelation 21:27 Revelation 22:18-19 Lk. 10: And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. 2 Jn. 9 - Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. Heb. 5:8-9 - Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Rev. 21:27 - And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. Rev. 22: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Revelation 22:14 7 “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” The obedient will be blessed with eternal life and granted entrance into heaven: John 14:21; 1 John 2:4, 3:24 Revelation 2:10 Romans 6:23 Jn. 14:21 - He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 1 Jn. 2:4 - He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 Jn. 3:24 - And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. Rev. 2:10 - Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Rom. 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Conclusion! 7 Beatitudes of Revelation Teach:
