In this world you will have trouble
Every day we face trials and tribulations of all kinds Matthew 6:34
Jesus never said it would be easy! – John 16:33a; Matthew 16:24-27; Luke 9:57-62; 14:25-33

4. Life is filled with Adversity!
But take heart! I have overcome the world
Jesus overcame temptation – Matthew 4:1-11
He overcame opposition and frustration – Mark 3:6; 9:19
He overcame physical and emotional weariness – Matthew 14:13-14; Matthew 26
He overcame the world! And we can too! – John 16:33

5. “This is love for God: to obey His commands
“This is love for God: to obey His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” John 5:3-5 NIV

6. We are called to be OVERCOMERS
OVERCOMERS OBEY God’s commands!
Neglect and indifference are not acceptable! – Matthew 7:21; Revelation 3:14-22
We must fight the good fight of faith to the end! – Revelation 2:10; 12:10-12

7. We are called to be OVERCOMERS
God’s Promises are for OVERCOMERS
To those who OVERCOME, I will give – Revelation 2:5, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21
He who OVERCOMES will inherit all this – Revelation 21:7-8

8. “He who overcomes will inherit all this and I will be his God and he will be my son. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars – their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Revelation 21:7-8 NIV

9. Developing an OVERCOMER’S heart
Believe that you CAN DO ALL THINGS!
Consider the extent of this statement – Philippians 4:13
Greater is He that is in you – 1 John 4:4
Faith is the Victory that OVECOMES the world! – John 5:3-5

Trust in the Lord with ALL YOUR HEART . . .
“Trust” is believing enough to act on it – Matthew 14:22-33
Lean NOT on your own understanding – Proverbs 3:5
In ALL your ways acknowledge Him – Proverbs 3:6
