2 Code of Conduct All students who participate Art Club must:
-Watch the Code of Conduct video -Take the quiz -Fill out the google doc and submit online -Write “Art Club” for your activity so you are placed on our roster! -

3 National Art Honor Society
This year, ART CLUB will consist of : Art Competitions Visual Arts Classic (VAC) Visioneers Art Shows MHHS Art Show Youth Art Month Congressional Art Show Scholastic Art Show National Art Honor Society For academic and motivated students who are available to meet twice a month Students can choose one, or several of the above activities to participate in!

However many students who want to participate You will have to prove you are taking it seriously! Students compete individually in long term challenge Architecture, Digital Photo, Exhibit Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Game Design, Product Design, Illustration, Urban Planning, Video Production Students compete individually in on-site challenge that is linked to long term challenge State Competition You can place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in your long term and on-site challenges Multiple people can receive awards for long term, only one 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place is awarded for onsite. We want people who want to make art and have fun!

Team of 12 students At least 2 competitors per class, 3 alternates Only 2 students can compete in each category Students compete individually in long term challenge Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Ceramics, Sculpture, Personal Adornment, Traditional Photography, Digital Photography, Video, Computer Graphics, Art History Students compete individually in on-site challenge that is linked to long term challenge The team competes in a Quiz Bowl Based on 12 pre-determined artists you have studied The team competes in a Creative Thinking Challenge A skit with props and linked to the artists Highest amount of points wins! 1st place from each Regional moves on to State Individuals who take 1st place in long term/on-site challenges compete individually at State. We want people who want to compete! Last year our team placed 2nd at State so we have a lot to prove! 

However many students who want to participate There is a fee of $3 for 2D work and $2 for 3D work It is a LOCAL art show Hosted at The Driftless Historium We lost our old gallery so we’re still looking for a permanent location. Details to come! We accept any kind of art work that has been made in the last year (hasn’t been in the MHHS show before), and is school appropriate. We want people who want to make art and have fun!

5 students represent their school at Regionals Judges choose 3 pieces from each school to move on to State. It is a STATE WIDE art show Hosted at the Capitol Building in Madison. There is a HUGE celebration at the Capitol Building during the closing. The three students chosen are encouraged to attend the closing ceremony. 2D matted, not framed, work. Certain size restrictions We want people who want to enjoy celebrating their artwork and want more people to see their work. Also students who represent Mount Horeb in a positive way

However many students who want to participate Last year six students submitted artwork and there were only about 40 pieces of artwork at the show. It is a NATIONAL art show, locally hosted by Congressman Marc Pocan Hosted at The Goodman Library in Madison Grand Prize winner receives a trip to Washington DC where your artwork will be on display for an entire year. 2nd Place piece is on display in Pocan’s office in Washington DC 3rd Place piece in on display in Pocan’s office in Madison Only 2D artwork, must be framed, lots of size and weight restrictions. We want people who want to meet Congressman Pocan at the closing!

However many students who want to participate Last year three students submitted artwork and it was the first time we participated in the show. It is a NATIONAL art show, with a regional show in Milwaukee. Approxiametly 320,000 students submit their artwork to this show annually! Hosted at The Milwaukee Art Museum If you receive a Gold Key at regionals, your artwork will be judged for the National Show. Gold and Silver Keys are displayed at the regional show 3rd Place piece in on display in Pocan’s office in Madison Architecture, Ceramics & Glass, Comic Art, Design, Digital Art, Drawing, Fashion, Film & Animation, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Video Games, and Senior Portfolios. Submit as much work as you want! It costs $5 per piece

Anyone from any grade can join You don’t have to be in an art class to join Students must abide by our Chapter Bylaws Maintain a 3.0 GPA and a 3.7 GPA in art class Participate in a minimum of 6 service hours MHHS Art Show, Badger Art Show Participate in 75% or more of our projects, activites, meetings and fundraisers. Pay $10 dues Students should be positive role models to the school and fellow art students! You will receive a Rainbow Colored Cord to wear at graduation! We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month
