Scoring Directions Look closely at Deadlines! Scored by CRA
Observation, Justification/Background Research, Research Question, Hypotheses, Variables, Procedures, & References will be scored by CRA for a total of 34 points. To pass you will need to receive at least 28 out of 34 points AND have been approved. Scored by Symposium Judge Title, Results, Data Analysis, Conclusion, & Presentation Skills will be scored at symposium for a total of 22 points. To pass you will need to receive at least 18 out of 22 points.

Problem is clearly stated on the observation slide. Explains why this project is important to the community in which you live. Explains why you chose this project and why it is important to you. Tips What is the problem you are trying to address? Why is this a problem? Why is this problem important to you? Tell us about your idea for a project and how it connects to the problem statement? Your project idea should set out to solve or better understand the problem. Why is your topic important to your community? How will this project idea help improve your community?

Justification/Background Research
5 Points, scored by CRA Background research should lead you into your research question. This section should be 2 or more slides. Previous background research on observation explained. Research referenced using correct in text APA citations. At least two facts from each research source. Highlighting not narrating. Not in paragraph. Limited quotes. In bulleted formation. Do not plagiarize.

Selected a statistical test that helps you to test the hypothesis. You need to explain why you used that test to test the hypothesis. You need to explain the statistical significance of the statistical test.

Conclusion 5 points, scored by symposium judge
Include an accurate summary of the project. Interpret the data and state if the data supported/rejected the hypothesis. Answer the research question. Discusses limitations of project The limitations of the study are those characteristics of design or methodology that impacted or influenced the application or interpretation of the results of your study. They are the constraints on generalizability and utility of findings that are the result of the ways in which you chose to design the study and/or the method used to establish internal and external validity. Keep in mind that acknowledgement of a study's limitations is an opportunity to make suggestions for further research. Discusses possible solutions to your limitations. Discuss how you would implement change and/or bring awareness to your community.
