Definition Disruptive technologies, McKinsey Global Institute, May 2013
… There are tree steps in Internet of Things applications: Capturing data from the object (for example simple location data or more complex information) Aggregating that information across a data network, and Acting on that information or collecting data over time to design process/product improvements

Common structure of student examples
Battery operated Units contain a small Arduino computer (power) WiFi –module – gives access to the internet (power) price for these: ”det der gør forskellen så stor er hvad delene koster i dag mod hvad det kostede for 20 år siden. Fx. Som amatør home automation maker kan jeg købe en Arduino mini pro clone i Kina for ca. 26 kr og wifi esp8266 også til lige over 20 kr ved et stk. køb. Det vil sige at du kan lave en masse styring for næsten ingen penge”
23
Conclusions ? IOT is directly influencing physical products
IOT products are an integral part of K&P’s portfolio: Product service systems Conceptualization (mindset?) In what way are we preparing ourselves for this? Corporation with DTU-Elektro? Isn’t the identification of the ”use-situation” of a product a key competence of what we do?
