2 Soviet Union the USSR helped the Communists fight against the Nationalists

3 Soviet Union Once China was Communist, they helped China grow

4 Based on what we have learned previously, why would the Soviet Union help China?

5 Soviet Union Mao & Stalin disagreed about Communism; tensions between two countries increased.

7 Soviet Union Tensions also increased because they were fighting for power & influence in Asia

8 Soviet Union 1990s break-up of USSR caused China concern about losing only other large Communist nation as an ally.

9 Developing Nations China supported socialism & nationalism in these countries.
