A cable or card reader to transfer images

5 Cameras There is a wide variety of cameras on the market.
Most digital cameras can make movie clips. I own a Panasonic DMC-FX7 that serves my needs well. My iPhone can take pictures. Demonstrate my camera at this point. Take a picture. Remove card and add it to my card reader to transfer pictures. Use Picasa to hold pictures. Show Picasa and it’s editing functions.

6 Editing Software: I use Picasa3 software to edit my pictures.
Go to Google Images. Search for a picture of a flower. Save it to a folder like My Pictures. Open Picasa Click on Import then Select Device and then Folder. Find the picture and save it to Picasa. Use Picasa to edit the software.

7 Digital Images and the Web
The web has an unlimited supply of images. Be aware of web images and copyright issues. Google Images Advanced Image Search: B&W, faces , news items, type of file Barry’s Clipart MS Office Clipart Flickr and Flickr Toys

Inexpensive to buy and easy to use 40 Ways to Use Flip Video in the Classroom DigitalWish.com is allowing teachers to order the FLIP ultra on a buy one get one free . Edit Movies in Flip Share Software (comes with camera).

9 Editing Your Pictures You can use Paint which is built in the Windows
operating system and open source’s Gimp You can use Picnik which is included at Flickr’s site. You can use Picasa 3 You can use Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements . If you upload pictures to Shutterfly or Flickr picture sites, you can edit there.

10 Flickr It’s owned by Yahoo.
You can join if you have or get a Yahoo account. It’s free if your only upload 100mb per month/5mg per photo and create 3 sets. Pro account is $24.95 a year with unlimited storage and unlimited sets.

11 Compfight : Copyright Free Images
Search at Compfight a Flickr search tool Type in Flowers in the search box. Click on Creative Commons Only. Choose a picture and click on it. Scroll down to Additional Information and click on Some Rights Reserved. Read how use the picture.

12 Create a Flickr Account
Sign In with your Yahoo address Upload Pictures Tag them and describe them. Invite others to view them. Edit them with Picnik.
