1 Aerospace Engineering Programs
1

2 History 1926: year of foundation of the Aeronautical Engineering School, which was later to become the School of Aerospace Engineering 1980: creation of the five year Aeronautical Engineering program within Sapienza’s Engineering School 1990: a new Space Engineering program is added alongside the Aeronautical program. Curriculum designated as Aerospace Engineering 2000: first-level three-year undergraduate course in Aerospace Engineering, followed by two distinct advanced two-year programs in Aeronautical and Space Engineering 2009: the three programs are hosted within the newly-formed School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering 2010: due to a Ministerial directive the new asset is absorbed by the School of Civil and Industrial Engineering where the programs are currently held

3 Objectives To provide high quality training both in the aerospace fields as well as in fundamental disciplines to better develop the students' ability to formulate, analyze and solve engineering problems To offer programs suited for talented students with a strong motivation and interest in aerospace engineering To promote the international aspect of training programs to favor the integration of our students within European universities and research centers To favor a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to encourage students' creativity within a solid fundamental knowledge base To give a detailed overview of professional opportunities, promoting application-oriented courses suited to the expectations and requirements of the job market
