Pope Francis holds a special devotion to Mary, Undoer or Untier of Knots. The baroque work Wallfahrtsbild painted by Johann Georg Melchior Schmidtner in 1700 is displayed in St. Peter am Perlach in Augsburg, Bavaria. It depicts the Blessed Mother surrounded by angels and stepping on the head of a serpent with a knot in his head.
