The Pay-TV Business Model
Advantages Challenges Going OTT Going OTT: Comcast’s Brian Roberts reiterated that they don’t plan to offer an out of market OTT pay TV service (for now), but it was a big topic of discussion this week given the expanding number of virtual MVPDs in the market (Dwayne’s PS Vue, for example, Sling TV, and the new one announced this week by BitTorrent). Though Comcast and other traditional MVPDs have yet to go OTT on other cable operators, is this scenario inevitable? If it is, what’s the broader impact to an industry that has historically been collaborative because cable operators have not been directly competitive?

Amazon with Echo; Google Home, etc.)
