HISTORY Development of the Resilience Centre and EPRRU at PAHT coincided with the setting up of the Defence Medical Welfare Service within the Trust (AUG 2016) Trust at that time was awarded ‘Silver Medal’ through the HEE Employers Recognition Scheme The Reserve Forces Champion post became vacant (SEPT 2016) EPRRU approached by HR to support DMWS and AC offered position of RFC Agreement & confirmation with HEE and PAHT HR with commencement of gap analysis, forward planning & joint working

Drivers Military experience in each facet of EPRRU & DMWS driving the development of RFC & DMWS Can correlate and advise reservists and line managers Joint working based on the Armed Forces Covenant & Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Mandate (JESIP)

DMWS Aged Veterans project supporting aged 65 & over
Tri service & National Service Bed side visits to bereavement support Estimate 25,000 veterans over 65 in Manchester area Families support Signposting services & fully confidential

FUTURE Assessment of number of Reservists in PAHT and service (Army, Navy & RAF) Establishment of battle rhythm to facilitate development of Reservists and DWMS within the Trust Establish Inter Trust, multi service reservist support network Actively support, and facilitate, recruitment & retention in tandem with HR Alignment to requirements to achieve Gold Status Facilitate the potential for DMWS to support Reservists within Trust with emphasis on post deployment return to work
