11 REGISTRATION You should already have attended a registration session in the ECC (Exhibition & Conference Centre) to: - Complete your ‘official’ registration Collect your ID card You need your ID card to: Access FET Labs & Buildings (out of hours) Use the Library Collect coursework and much more Please look after it!

12 NOT FULLY REGISTERED YET?
Next steps: Complete your registration online and upload a photo via myUWE Visit the Registration Hub in the Library if you have any queries about your registration Visit the Registration Hub in the Library to collect your ID card The Registration Hub is open daily for three weeks from Monday 12th September until Friday 30th September, 9.30 to 4.30 Monday to Thursday and 9.30 to 4.00 on Fridays.  You will need photographic ID to collect your UWE student card (driving licence, passport, EU identity card)

13 PEOPLE WHO CAN HELP – ACADEMIC ADVICE
For module advice speak to a module tutor or the Module Leader in the first instance For advice about the programme or general academic advice, ask your Programme Leader You will also have an Academic Personal Tutor for academic help and signposts to pastoral support

14 YOUR ACADEMIC PERSONAL TUTOR WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT
Contact with your Academic Personal Tutor (“APT”) through each year of your programme. Year 1: One group meeting per term and one individual meeting per term. (generally meetings last up to 30 minutes each.) The first group meeting is scheduled in week 15, check your timetable Year 2/3: A minimum of two meetings per year. Details will follow later.

15 WHAT WILL BE DISCUSSED Academic Personal Tutors focus on support for academic and personal development. For example they will discuss progress, marks, feedback and help identify development goals. If necessary your Academic Personal Tutor will direct you to the appropriate professional services available at UWE to help you. Student Services provide support for other matters, such as welfare, University regulations, financial matters.

16 GETTING “APT” STARTED Attend your first scheduled Academic Personal Tutor meeting as shown on your timetable The first meeting is scheduled for week 15, w/b 31 Oct. OR if in doubt, see your Programme Leader to check who your APT is, and when to see her/him If for some reason you feel you can not get on with your Academic Personal Tutor students, please speak to your Programme Leader.

20 GETTING ON WITH THINGS Plan your work carefully, look after yourself!
Or not getting overwhelmed/overworked/overstressed & ill!: Plan your work carefully, look after yourself! Check timetable, modules and assessment dates Register with a local GP Check guidance on a wide range of heath issues including: Meningitis and MMR Stress, depression and anxiety Alcohol and drugs If you have questions or need help - please ASK!

23 BECOME A STUDENT AMBASSADOR
UWE students with the right to work in the UK can apply to become a Student Ambassador. The application period is open from 09:00 Tuesday 20 September to 09:00 Monday 17 October Interviews will take place during November/December, with training following over January/February. Precise dates will be made available nearer the time to applicants. Full details about the scheme and how students can apply can be found on the Student Ambassador web page, Stefani Oliver, Student Partnership Services
