New homes on cheaper rural land (cost ) New job opportunities building houses, roads, etc. More $ spent in local stores (local economy) Property taxes help schools & roads

Urban Sprawl 3 arguments AGAINST growth (urban sprawl)
Destroys habitats/wildlife (building on what used to be nature) Reliance on cars (far drives- especially if work in the city) traffic, pollution Taxes in rural areas as land develops, becoming more expensive like the downtown. Big businesses can move to rural areas & put small business out. (i.e.- Walmart takes over a locally owned grocery story)
