Introduction to Automation Technologies
Automation is control of a system or equipment. Industrial Automation using so many technologies to control system. Following are automation technologies: SCADA SENSORS HMI

SCADA Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) is one of the technology of automation. SCADA is a control system architecture that uses computers, networked data communications and graphical user interfaces for high-level process supervisory management. SCADA is extensively used in the Process industry for remote monitoring and control of the plant/ system which is geographically wide spread.

SENSORS Most of the automation systems are closed loop systems i.e. to have a better control they have a feedback mechanism in place. This feedback system used is Sensors. HMI HMI (Human Machine Interface) is a device that acts as an interface between the PLC and the operator. Example:

TOPIC COVERED The participants get a complete understanding on:
SCADA: Static screen development: depicting the complete plant in different screens. Dynamic linking: Communications with the PLC and animation of SCADA objects according to the status on the field. Trending: viewing the X-Y plots of different parameters for analysis. Configuring Alarms, recipes and report generation & Securities. SENSOR: This section introduces the participants to the Sensors, their types(Digital/Analog) and working. HMI: Static screen development, Dynamic linking, Trending, Alarm setup and securities. Complete attention is given from project development to downloading the project to the HMI and communications between PLC and HMI.
