3 URBAN 95 Cities can be wonderful places to grow up, rich with opportunities for learning, but they also pose challenges for safe and healthy child development. Dense neighbourhoods Long, unpredictable commutes Unsafe housing, pollution and poor sanitation Struggle to find affordable childcare and often cannot depend on extended family and neighbours the way they might in a small, rural community.
