Pricing Terms Overview Ariba provides four different types of pricing terms, selected using the Contract Type field on the Definitions screen. (See the chart to the right). With all types, Ariba allows for flat discounts, tiered pricing and term-based pricing (pricing that varies over time). To start, create a contract workspace (procurement) and click the Documents tab. Click SCC-PricingTerms and select Open. Supplier Set a standard discount for all products or services ordered from a supplier Commodity Set a standard discount for all products and services within a commodity from a supplier Catalog Set a standard discount for all products and services within a specific catalog from a supplier (supplier catalog set up required) Item Set the contracted price or discount for specific products or services (supplier catalog set up required) 1 2 1 2 Page 1 Get Help –

Pricing Terms Overview (continued) Start on the Definitions screen. In the Contract Type field, select the type of pricing terms: Supplier level, commodity level, catalog level or item level. Complete the remaining fields on the Definitions screen and click Next. For more information on completing all eight screens, see the QRG titled Contract Compliance Tool Overview. Enter Supplier-Level Pricing Terms Note: The options available on the Pricing Terms page will vary by Contract Type. Click Edit. In the Full Description field, enter a description of the pricing. Complete the Pricing and Discounts section: Discount Percent: One discount applies to all purchases. Tiered Pricing: See page 11. Term Based Pricing: See page 12. Enter Commodity-Level Pricing Terms To add a commodity, click Add items. Enter a Full Description of the commodity. Use either the Commodity Code or the Material Group field to select the commodity. The other field will auto-populate. Enter Catalog-Level Pricing Terms To add a catalog, click Add items. Enter a Full Description of the catalog. In the Catalog field, click Select to search for and select the supplier’s catalog. Enter Item-Level Pricing Terms (continued) Complete the Pricing and Discounts section: Discounted Price: Override the price listed in the catalog. Discount Percent: One discount applies to all purchases. Tiered Pricing: See page 11. Term Based Pricing: See page 12. In the Bill To field, select the department that will be invoiced. Set Pricing Tiers In the Pricing and Discounts section, click Define Tiers. Type: Select whether: The tiers are based on amount or quantity and The discount is a price or a percentage. Note: The options available depend on the Contract Type. Scope: Select whether the tier is based on cumulative spend against the contract or on each order. Enter the Minimum Amount / Quantity to qualify for each tier. Enter the Percent discount or Price at each tier. Click OK. 1 2 1 6 2 3 3 5 4 4 5 6 Page 11 Get Help –

Set Term-Based Pricing In the Pricing and Discounts section, click Define Terms. Type: Select Term Based Discount or Term Based Pricing. Enter the Start Date when the discount or pricing takes effect. Enter the Percent or Price. To add terms (timeframes), click Add.
