6
Rate Inquiry Listing Locations
You can specify specific locations to query the rates for – e.g DNH0_SHIPPOINT_00001 to 34203_INTERSTATE_PRODUCTS Utilise the look ahead function in OTM to help you narrow down the specific location to query against Location IDs will be in the following format: Location Type Format Description DuPont Ship Point Locations [XXXX]_SHIPPOINT_[NNNNN] [XXXX]: 4 character 3 alpha = DuPont ship point code and 1 numeric which is the business unit code [N5]: 5 digit running sequence number (set to for the first location] DuPont SAP Customer Location [ZIP5]_[NNNNNNNNNN]_ [AAAAAA][MMM] [ZIP5]: 5 digit zip code of the location [N10]: 10 digit SAP partner number [AAAAAA]: SAP server ID [M3]: Running sequence number Vendor locations that are manually created by TONA [ZIP5]_[XXXXXXXXXX] [ZIP5]: 5 digit ZIP code of the location [X10]: 10 character customer abbreviated name
7
Rate Inquiry Listing Locations
Type the first 3 characters (shippoint code). Locations starting with the characters will be listed Set Rate Group to ALL for most queries. If you want to specifically query a particular rate group, then select it from the drop down list For vendor locations / SAP customer locations, enter the zip code and the list of locations with the same zip code will be listed
8
Rate Inquiry Accessorials & Special Services
You can also specify constraints as part of the rate inquiry in the Additional Constraints / Accessorial and Special Services sections Equipment Group Profile ID Show Preferred Rates Only Accessorial Code ID Special Services ID Used to constraint equipment types for Bulk RIQ Check if you want to view preferred rates only Specify any accessorials that would need to apply on the rate Specify any special services required for the rate
9
Rate Inquiry Multiple Line Items and Commodities
RIQ allows you to specify more than 1 line of commodity / items – this is useful when specifying bulk commodities OR when there are multiple line items with different weight volumes RIQ will query based on the combined weight and equipment constraints for the commodity code

Rate Inquiry – Buy Side Zip Codes
Best Practice would be to use Zip Codes on ‘all’ rate inquiries. The reason is to be able to compare weights that are on the cusp between LTL and Truckload which will provide you with the most accurate rate and transit time to make your decision. There are many kinds of rates that have been setup in OTM and there are some that are a mix of Distance based rates as well as zone based rates Many locations in US and Canada have multiple cities with the same name – MileMaker (distance calculation tool) will not be able to return distances between cities under this scenario ZIP codes are used to disambiguate cities with the same names so as to be able to determine the most accuate distance when doing an RIQ. SMC CzarLite requires ZIP codes to determine the LTL Base Rate for which all the LTL carrier rates are discounted against
12
Rate Inquiry – Buy Side Zip Codes
Hence for ALL RIQs that are to be done, ZIP code must be entered as shown below so that the appropriate rates are returned Note: If your RIQ does not return rates, it is likely that either the Postal Code is missing in the RIQ screen or the Postal Code may be incorrect.

If you do not know the appropriate Zip code, you can look it up conveniently through the links provided in the menu as shown below: Link to the USPS website so that you can lookup the zip code of the location / city Link to the Canada Post website so that you can lookup the zip code of the location / city Move the mouse over the links, right click on the mouse and select Open in New Tab to open the link in a separate tab within the web browser so that you can easily toggle between the RIQ screen and the USPS / Canada Post website

Rate Inquiry – Buy Side Bulk Rates
When inquiring for Bulk Rates because they are equipment specific, the Bulk Equipment Group profile (TL_BULK_EGP) would need to be specified Proceed to enter source / destination location, transport mode as TL, commodity codes, weight and qty. Once done, you can then execute a bulk rate RIQ

Rate Inquiry Accessorials
An accessorial can be assigned to a rate offering to include any number of additional charges for special circumstances. Accessorials are defined as part of the Rate Offering Accessorial Code defines the type of accessorial Accessorial Cost defines the calculation formula to derive the accessorial amount Accessorial Costs define the rules on how to calculate the actual cost of the accessorial to be applied. The that can be defined are similar to that of the rates Accessorial Costs rules are limited to what is available in OTM (e.g. monthly / time based charges – like rentals are currently not supported directly) Previous version did not have detailed accessorials associated to a Rate Offering
22
Rate Inquiry Accessorials
You can query rates by specifying the accessorial that you want to be included. RIQ will return the total cost (including the accessorial) If you do not specify the accessorial, the accessorial will not be applied during RIQ You can specify more than 1 accessorial when querying for a rate All rates (with OR without) all matching acccessorials will be displayed Specify the type of accessorials that you would like to be included as part of the RIQ.
23
Rate Inquiry Accessorials
Rates that include the accessorial code in the Rate Offering will be shown along with the total cost (including the accessorial)

Rate Inquiry Special Services
Special services differ from accessorials in that they qualify rate offerings for shipments. In order for a rate offering to qualify for a shipment, the offering must specify the special services that are required by the shipment For example, you may want to use Special Services to specify that expedited delivery is available at a different rate OR different calculation method.

Rate Inquiry Sell Side Sell Side rate inquiry is similar to Buy Side rate inquiry with the following exceptions No accessorials or special services FSC included Only TL and LTL sell rates are available in OTM You will need to specify that this is a sell side RIQ by setting Perspective to Sell
32
