Our Mission . . . Provide acquisition engineering, in-service engineering and technical support for SENSORS, ELECTRONICS, ELECTRONIC WARFARE and SPECIAL WARFARE WEAPONS. Apply component and system level product and industrial engineering to surface sensors, strategic systems, special warfare devices and electronic warfare/information operations systems. Execute other responsibilities as assigned by the Commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center. NSWC Crane Engineers and Technicians with PEO-IWS 2.0 completed the first two integrations and successful Ships Operational and Verification Testing (SOVT) of the AN/SLQ-32 (V)6 EW system and modernization on ships USS BAINBRIDGE (DDG-96) and USS LABOON (DDG-58). Being the second block upgrade of EW systems capability on surface ships the new systems will provide significantly enhanced protection from anti-ship cruise missiles when used in conjunction with shipboard electronic attack capabilities and off-board countermeasures. 2. Conducted first MK59 Decoy Launching System (a Rapid Deployment capability) installation on DDG 62 USS Fitzgerald, managed rapid integration of systems for the fleet. 3. Successful operational test achieved for I1B1 JCREW system, the first program of record CREW system. 4. Designed, developed, and delivered over 11,000 PIPPER Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (CREW) systems (key enablers for the eventual U.S. drawdown in Afghanistan) 5. Supported over 15 weeks of Seeker Test Van and Expeditionary Smart Dispense Van flight test events for Army, Air Force, Air National Guard, and Navy/Marine Corps aircraft…….. 6. Conducted 100 Lot Acceptance Test and First Article Test events for countermeasures devices….. 7. Evaluated over 12,000 Infrared Countermeasures for PMA-272, provided SME for Joint Strike Fighter program for IR/CM 8. Delivered, in theater, the first of three Communications Electronic Attack with Surveillance and Reconnaissance (CEASAR) communications jammer to the US Army 9. Acquisition Engineering support to the Next Generation Jammer Airborne EA system 10. Produced 4,719 ALQ-99 and related Airborne Electronic Attack systems tactical units in FY13. Partnerships with DARPA and EW EXCOM looking at advanced EW technologies like cognitive and adaptive. Proposing new concepts for usage of our advanced systems capabilities like passive precision targeting.
