Develop Project Team To have a successful project the project manager need to: Improve feelings of trust and agreement among team members Create a dynamic and cohesive team culture to improve both individual and team productivity, team spirit, and cooperation, and to allow cross- training and mentoring between team members to share knowledge and expertise To be effective, the leader’s style of leadership must be adapted to the team member’s level of technical and psychological maturity or readiness . Individual development (managerial and technical) is the foundation necessary to develop the team. Team development is difficult in a matrix organizations because members report to two bosses. Effective mgmt of this duality is often a critical success factor and the responsibility of the PM Even if slotted as executing process, team development occurs throughout the project
