1 Online Advisor Training
Tutoring

2 Monday through Thursday: 8am to 8pm
The Learning Center Individual Tutoring 30 min or 60 min sessions Study Groups/Drop-In 1 to 2 hour sessions Supplemental Instruction Two 2-Hr sessions/wk Computer Lab – Lee 212 We provide one-on-one peer tutoring. Students may make an appointment for a 30 minute free tutoring session. For many of the more challenging courses, we provide study groups where a tutor will go over what the student should have learned that week in class and reinforce the material. We provide Supplemental Instructor (peers) who attend the classes and then provide tutoring sessions outside class. Students attending the SI tutoring session typically earn ¾ of a letter grade higher than students who do not attend the study sessions. ALL SERVICES ARE FREE Located on the 2nd floor of Lee Hall in the Quad! Monday through Thursday: 8am to 8pm Fridays: 8am to 12pm

Tutors are qualified Minimum 3.0 GPA to be considered for employment Average tutor has 3.5 GPA or higher Tutors are either CRLA* certified OR pursuing certification training Tutors passed classes they tutor with an A Tutors are recommended by faculty *College Reading and Learning Association

4 Services Provided Individual Tutoring Subjects:

7 SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION (SI)
Extension of the Classroom Experience Offered for challenging courses (W, D, F Rates) SI Leader has taken and passed course with A. SI Leader goes to class as an observer Hosts two 2-Hour tutoring sessions per week Compare notes, Discuss chapter readings, Develop organizational tools, and Consider potential test items Sessions are held in or near building that class meets. Online tutoring through NetTutor is accessed via Moodle The increase of courses offered now depends on professor participation.
