5. The green soul of Formigine
Formigine is a green city with many public parks, where the development of so-called “soft mobility”, the bicycle and pedestrian paths make sustainable the territory
34 km of cycle paths and many natural places where you can completely immerse yourself in nature, like the Oasis of Colombarone, a big wetland area of ​​50 hectares located on the banks of the river Secchia, classified as a Site of Community Importance (SCI)

6. Formigine and music
Orchestra Spira mirabilis born in Formigine in 2007
Young musicians coming from all over the world, playing in the most famous Orchestra, carry on this parallel project
“We are a group of committed and passionate professional musicians who want to keep studying music together”
It’is an unique phenomenon: they choose to perform in unusual places for classical music and they play without conductor

8. General objectives of the project
To develop awareness of active citizenship on young people coming from small/medium size areas, where local authorities have a strong focus on the community and on citizens’ needs
To educate participants at taking care of common goods, because a park is a beautiful place where everyone can play or relax, and it improves our quality of life, fighting urban degradation
To increase the deal of initiative and creativity of youngsters by involving them in a material activity that starts and ends during the exchange
To promote friendship to people with different social, cultural and linguistic backgrounds through mutual knowing and common activities

9. Activities at the Parco della Resistenza: PASSION PARK activities
Participants will work on the urban ornament of parco della Resistenza, the largest public park of the territory, also home of the municipal library, children’s library and the new coworking space “Hub in Villa”
Renovation and decoration of part of the furniture of the park (benches, fences, etc.)
Design of the new park signs, to better show to citizens how many things you can do inside the park (read a book, take a rest, walk and run, bocce and basketball playing, etc.)
3 adult tutors will guide participants in manual activities and spare time, in collaboration with local association

10. Accomodation at Primary School «Ferrari»
Primary School «Ferrari», 5 minutes walking from historical centre and from the area of activities
Boys and girls classrooms equipped with beds (mattress, sheets, pillows) on the ground floor
The building is equipped with toilets, showers, open spaces for activities, theater, a big outdoor green area

11. Meals at Rugby Club House!
Participants will have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the new Club House of the local Highlanders Rugby Club
Rugby camp borders with the school area
Intercultural breakfast and dinner

12. Leisure activities and visits
There will always be moments during the day when guys can take a rest and have time for them-selves
At the swimming pool… to refresh ideas for the projects! Bowling, beach volley and other sports tournaments
Guided visits to local farm (Parmigiano reggiano cheese, Balsamic Vinegar farmhouse, Lambrusco wine, ect.)
Guided visits to the city of Modena, Bologna and Ravenna with an half a day on the Adriatic See beaches!

13. Council of Europe awards Formigine: the «Flag Of Honor»
On 27° July participants will attend to the official ceremony when a representative of the European Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will award Formigine with the «Flag of Honor»
This recognition is one of a series of 4 prices for cities that make a series of acts of promotion of the European ideal (ex. Twinning,  European events, exchange visits, etc.)
Formigine wants to receive this important recognition during Formigine Eurocamp 2017: European dimension is growing!
