Application Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS). TMDSAS is a centralized processing service for applicants to first-year entering classes at the Texas public medical schools. Applicants are screened for interview on academic performance and intellectual capacity, dedication to service, capacity for effective interactions, special life circumstances, and other compelling factors.

What is the Purpose of the Personal Statement?
The personal statement (PS) should express in a well organized, thoughtful and personalized testament the following: Motivation to seek a career in medicine The value of experiences relevant to a career in medicine Goals relevant to the profession The personal statement can also be an opportunity for the applicant to discuss and put in perspective the following: personal characteristics (background, talents, skills, etc.) or experiences that would add to the educational experience of others any unique circumstances or life experiences that are relevant to the application * The personal statement can be a mirror to character and ambitions.

“Partially Blind” Interview?
What is a “Blind” or “Partially Blind” Interview? The Blind Interview a one-to-one interview situation requiring at least two and up to three individual interviews per applicant at minutes in length, but the interviewers are “blinded” from the application. The challenge for interviewees is to introduce themselves to the interviewer in a selective yet detailed manner. Only parts of the application, typically the personal statements, are provided.

Affordability U.S. News & World Report ranked the Texas A&M College of Medicine the most affordable medical school in the United States for in‐state students. Medical students attending the Texas A&M Health Science Center – which tops the list of least expensive public medical schools for in-state students – received the biggest break, paying $16,432 as state residents. The cost of attending this Central Texas med school is nearly half the in-state average among all public medical schools. “The cost of attending Texas A&M for medical school is approximately half of the in-state average among all public medical schools in the U.S”
