6 What is a 401(k)? ______________________________________________________________ A trust created or organized in the United States and forming part of a stock bonus, pension, or profit-sharing plan of an employer for the exclusive benefit of his employees or their beneficiaties shall constitute a qualified trust under this section – U.S. Law: Tital 26, Subtitle A, Chapter 1, Subchapter D, Part I, Subpart A, Section 401 In simple terms, a 401(k) is an employer-sponsored, tax-deferred voluntary retirement savings plan.

15 Requirements to participate
Regional Development Company 401(k) Plan ___________________________________ Requirements to participate Must be 21 years of age Must have worked for RDC (or equivalent ACCE member) for one year Must have worked at least 1,000 hours in a 12 consecutive month period

RDC automatically makes a contribution equal to 8% of the eligible employees’ gross income beginning with the first quarterly entry date following the one-year anniversary of hire All employees are 100% vested from the first date of eligibility for all Employer Contributions

18 How much can an employee save in addition to the Employer’s Primary Contribution?
Up to $15,500 can be withheld from 2007 paychecks – BEFORE INCOME TAXES ARE DEDUCTED – to be invested in the employee’s 401(k) account Employees who will be at least 50 years of age on 12/31/2007 can have an additional $5,000 in tax-deferred income invested in the 401(k) account An additional 2% of gross income can be saved on a “taxes-paid” basis
