Meet Ms. Surrette/Mrs. Cronin
Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and English from The College of New Jersey Master's in Education with Certification as Teacher of Students with Disabilities at TCNJ Taught Kindergarten in Medford Taught 4th grade and the Gifted and Talented Program for grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade in Lumberton I am looking forward to a great year!

Aligned with the Common Core Standards
Eureka instruction encourages students to use various mental strategies to solve problems Eureka emphasizes focus on the process rather than just calculating the answer For support, the students will bring their books home for reference, parent tips for the modules will be sent home, and there are helpful links on my website. Lesson Parts: Fluency Practice Application problem Concept development (teacher lesson) Debrief Exit ticket Homework (resembles problem set – assigned 4 times a week)

Standards Based Report Cards
Standards based grading in Reading, Writing, and Math No overall subject grade Grade is not an average of performance Proficiency on specific objectives will be identified Effort and behavior will be assessed separately Rubrics identify levels of proficiency for each standard Parent Information Night – October 19th at 6:30

Homework is given on a daily basis and will be recorded in homework planner – it should take approximately minutes Students must read seven nights for at least 20 minutes Homework is a review of daily class work and will help improve understanding of concepts Please encourage effort and neatness Planner stamped during the months of September-December

Conferences, Progress Reports and Report Cards
November– all students Mid Marking Period Progress Reports Only issued to students if progress is of concern Paper copy Report Cards Available on-line, available to print for two weeks 4 Marking Periods
