2 Innovation wednesday! Please go DIRECTLY to your Homeroom for attendance! The schedule for today is posted on the Handsworth website & on the board across from the library. REMINDER: ALL Grade 9 Students should REMAIN IN THEIR HOMEROOM CLASS for the Mental Health Literacy Session #2.

3 Attention all international students
Please come to Room 106 lunch for your Group Shot for the yearbook. Be there!!

4 GRAD GROUP PHOTO A 2nd Grad Group Photo will be taken TODAY at lunch!! Be in the gallery by 1:10 pm or you will miss out….AGAIN! Also, any Superlative Winners who have not had their photo’s done, please come to Room 106 during Innovation time on Wednesday!

5 Focus on: computers IT/Entrepreneurship Presentation Brian Moffatt is president of a Software company in Burnaby that provides solutions to mid-sized manufacturers and distributors to help them run their businesses. Come learn about starting a business, working in the IT industry and running a software company. TODAY during Innovation Time in Room 215

6 Attention all Tall SHIPS participants
Message to all Tall Ship Participants. Our last meeting is TODAY at lunch in Room Some VERY IMPORTANT information will be discussed!

7 U CLUB Meeting TODAY during Innovation Wednesday during Innovation time in Room 206. It is REALLY important for one member of each sub-committee to attend. See you there!!!!

8 TALL ships – this year If there are any Grade 10 students who still would like to go on the Tall Ships this year, Please see Mr. Hansen in Room 127 immediately.

9 GARBAGE DAY Notice to all students – Please ensure you have not parked illegally in front of the garbage containers or you WILL BE TOWED!!!!

10 Rainbow Alliance If you are LGBTQ+ or would like to support or learn more about the Rainbow Alliance, please join us in Room 209 at lunch today. Everyone is welcome!

11 Gauss Math contest Any Grade 8 students interested in taking part in the Gauss Math Contest on May 10th, please sign up in Room 231.

12 Next year’s Student council
Do you want to run for an elected position on next year’s Student Council? You have the opportunity to be your next year’s Grade Representative or you could become a member of the executive council. If this interests you then come to Room 207 at lunch on Wednesday, April 12th to learn more.

13 Frosty fridays Orders will be delivered on THURSDAY this week due to the holiday on Friday!! Anyone wishing to still place an order, please go to the Handsworth website!

14 Attention gr. 11’s and interested gr. 12’s
On Wednesday April 19th during Innovation time, a Handsworth Alumni is coming to speak to interested students about his experience after leaving high school and moving on to post secondary education. He will be speaking in Room 116 about what Science courses in University are like and how he became involved in his Gene Research program, doing his phD with Genome BC. This is going to be a DIALOGUE, so if you are keen to talk to someone who went to Handsworth and knows what it is like to be in th University Science courses right now, this would be the talk for you! Most suitable for Gr. 11 & 12 students interested in Biology & Chemistry. See Ms. Toombs in Room 112 if you want more details. See you there!

15 Gr 8 Boys FOOTBALL Any Grade 8’s still wishing to join the Football Team are asked to see Mr. Prepchuk in Room 107 asap!

16 Tall ships itinerary Tuesday April 18
0500 a.m. Handsworth - Edgewood Road !! Load Bus Depart Handsworth 05:15a.m. SHARP! Arrive Tsawwassen ferry terminal. Unload bus. Walk on ferry. 07:00 am Ferry. Tsawwassen  - Swartz Bay ferry 08:40 arrive Swartz Bay. Load bus and travel to Victoria Inner Harbour. Load gear on Tall Ships and cast-off for Gulf Islands. (Go to  Salts.ca  for recommended gear list)  Please note that all phones and/or electronic devices, excluding cameras, will be collected prior to boarding, *Orientation can take a long time before lunch. Advisable to pack some snacks!

17 Grade 12 transcripts Any Gr. 12 students who have ordered transcripts & have not picked them up yet, you need to pick them up from the main office by Wed. April 12th as they will then be shredded.

18 Clothing Drive/Fashion Show
The Fashion Clothing drive collection starts TODAY - Monday, April 10th – April 21st! Please bring used clothes that are in good condition. The proceeds will be donated to Convenant House and Development Disability Association. At the end of the collection, a Fashion Show will be held in May with the help of your fellow Handsworth Students. More info on this coming soon!

19 44 Dresses Hey Handsworth, we are working with 44 Dresses to help find dresses for Grade 7 girls who could use a little help. If you have a dress, shoes and/or accessories that would be appropriate for a 12/13 year old girl. Please consider donating! We are in need of dresses from girls size 10 to women’s 14. We will be collecting them in the gallery at lunch from Apr. 3rd-12th. Please bring a hanger!

20 MOUNTAIN BIKE TEAM Any students interested in joining the Mountain Bike Team, please see Mr. Langston in the PE Office. It’s going to be a fun season.

21 Girls rugby Congratulations to the Handsworth girls Rugby team for going undefeated in their games yesterday during the provincial qualification tournament. The girls ranked #1 in their pool against Rockridge, Chatelach & Windsor. Try’s were scored by Emily Anderson, Maddie Smith, Victoria Hammill, Carmen Manuel and Maggie Pardaz. Well done Royals!! Keep up the good work! GO ROYALS!!!

22 Felicitations concour D’ARHORATOIRE
Congatulations to all the students who competed & won in their category and will now represent the North Vancouver School District in the Provincial finals on May SFU. Winners are: Arnman Hariri Gr. 8 F.I. Sophia Ocana – Gr. 8 Francophone Arvin Madhi - Gr. 9 F.I. Thea Medland – Gr. 10 F.I. Genevieve McKay – Gr. 10 Francophone Matthew Wilson – Gr. 12 F.I.
