1 Figure 1. Evaluation point and enrollment of subjects analyzed in this study
A. Evaluation point Hospitalization (10 or more days) Outpatient division Outpatient division A 2 to 4 weeks B C 2 to 4 weeks D Last outpatient check-up before hospitalization Second day of hospitalization Last examination before discharge from the hospital First outpatient follow-up after discharge B. Enrollment 1) Hospitalization for ten or more days in Tokushima University Hospital 2) Eating more than 90% of served hospital foods 3) No significant infection, organ failure, gastrointestinal bleeding or malignancy Reference group (REF group) Chronic kidney disease group 1) All of the blood examination of serum albumin and hemoglobin concentration at A, B, C, and D were performed. 2) Proteinuria was less than 30 mg/dl by dipstick urine test. 3) Estimated glomerular filtration rate was over 45 ml/min/1.73m2. All of the blood and urine examination of serum albumin, hemoglobin concentration and urine protein, creatine at A, B, C, and D were performed. Low proteinuria with glucocorticoid group (LPG group) HIgh proteinuria without glucocorticoid group (HP group) HIgh proteinuria with glucocorticoid group (HPG group) Less than 1 g/gCreatinine proteinuria 2) Glucocorticoid only/and immunosuppressant treatment during hospitalization 1 or more g/gCreatinine proteinuria 2) No glucocorticoid /immunosuppressant treatment 1 or more g/gCreatinine proteinuria 2) Glucocorticoid only/and immunosuppressant treatment during hospitalization 3) Minimal change nephrotic syndrome patients were excluded
