The high conservation value forests is the most conservation target for WWF in the region. These forests are the last wild forests in the whole Europe. They are habitats of many Red data book’s species. They are important for biodiversity and climate issues. …….. Artem Stolpovsky / WWF-Russia

But local communities even more depend on livelihoods provided by industry. And the main industry in the region is the forest industry. Artem Stolpovsky / WWF-Russia

- we need support of our conservation work from them;
We traditionally work mainly with nature issues. But we should work more with CSOs and especially with locals because of at least 2 reasons: - we need support of our conservation work from them; - our conservation successes must not be additional reasons of negative socio-economical consequences; Denis Dobrynin / WWF-Russia
