THE 1ST EXPEDITION (snowpedition)
9
For our 1st expedition we walked from Wooler to St Cuthbert's Cave.
We slept in minus temperatures! This prepared us for all future expeditions!! We learned so much from this walk and learned what it is really like to work as part of a team.
10
Toileting was an experience….that included a spade!!!!
I would just like to thank god that we all made it back alive!!!
11
The practice expedition
This was from Longhorsely. The weather was ok but there was some showers. We walked in teams of 5 and the views were very good. We set up our tents in a farmer’s field and worked together to cook some food The toilets….don’t ask.
12
The Assessed Expedition
Beadnell to Boulmer ….and a lot of selfies
13
Day 1 We set off from school in the minibus and headed to Beadnell Harbour We gathered all our equipment, put our sun tan lotion on (some of us!!!) and set off through the caravan site We walked in small groups, using our maps and compass to navigate our way towards the first check point.
14
We continued through villages, a golf course, fields and Dunstanburgh Castle.
After a day of walking, we all made it to the camp site in one piece. No one got lost (ish) and we all worked together. We put up our tents and cooked our tea, super noodles were a favourite! We (most of us) relaxed, played team games… and even listened to the England game! While others practiced their selfie skills!
15
Day 2 We all woke up happy campers after a good night sleep, packed up our tents, made our breakfast and looked at the day’s schedule. Some of us were feeling tired from the first day… but everyone kept going and made it to the end! (Even before the staff!!!) A great 2 days walking and camping (toilets were a bonus), everyone enjoyed it and it went towards of Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
