Take part in a truly Canadian event Largest outdoor skating rink in the world 7.8 km long winds through downtown Ottawa one million skaters per season. The Skateway is equivalent to over 100 hockey rinks end- to-end Enjoy a Beavertail while on the ice!

For some, this will be the first, and maybe only time they will ever see a Professional sport being played See how an NHL game is played being in the stands – what happens between periods or during commercials?

15 Itinerary Leave 6am, Monday, Feb 13th Fun on the coaches!
3 nights in Ottawa Return Friday 9am (driving overnight from Ottawa)

16 Accommodations / Meals
Staying in Hotels – 4 per room (not co-ed!) Students will pick 3 people to stay with, we guarantee they will get at least one of their choices Security is on site – in rooms by 10:30 Group meals are covered, and are generally buffet style – Amazingly good food! Lunches each day (except first day) - $10 provided

17 Shopping This is not designed as a shopping trip! There will be some time available for shopping Many different stores that what we may see here More details to follow

20 Cancelling/Backing out
Once you commit, we expect that commitment to stick. Costs are based on the number of people going, and if people back out, that can affect the entire group. If a student’s behaviour prevents them from going on the trip, money will not be refunded.

21 Insurance Cancellation Insurance is optional - $64… and we highly recommend it Covers for health problems before and during the trip Family emergencies that may prevent somebody from going at last minute Theft/loss of personal items during trip

22 Fundraising We will support fundraising efforts. Families will have the option of participating in a large group fundraiser. We encourage students to raise their own funds – raking leaves, babysitting, etc We cannot permit individual raffles/50-50 sales/etc If you have any questions about fundraising, please contact Mr. White at the school.

23 School Rules Students are ambassadors for the school, therefore they are expected to act as they would in school. Maintain a consistent strong effort academically while being a positive member of the Queen Charlotte School Community Remain trouble free and suspension free. If suspended at any point for any reason, you may be excluded from participating on the trip. Behave as they would at Queen Charlotte while on the trip. Should problems arise on the trip, the student will be sent home at parent’s expense.

24 Responsibilities of Chaperones
The number of chaperones has yet to be determined. The number will be determined once we have an idea of the amount of students interested in participating in the trip. We will have some teachers, some administrators and likely some parents participating on this trip We will also have some Target Tours’ staff helping with security.

25 School Work Students going on the trip will be expected to make up any missed work when they return. Students who are not on the trip will attend classes as normal and complete normal class work. There will be a marked assignment for those who are on the trip

26 Meetings At least 1 more parent meetings (all information will be available on our website and we will use mass to communicate.)

27 Contract A ‘contract’ between the student, parent and school needs to be signed Outlines conditions and expectations Outlines payment schedule
