Preservation Project of St. Wenceslas Rotunda at the Lesser Town Square in Prague The origins of St. Wenceslas Rotunda were not recorded in writing. 11th ct. – “(Saint-)Lawrence Legend“ (1st Old Church Slavonic legend – carriage). 13th ct. – “(Saint-)Wenceslas Legend“ Oriente iam sole (“a chapel was built at the site of the miracle“). 1420 – St. Wenceslas Church (Rotunda) – used as a cemetery chapel adjacent to St. Nicholas Church, mention of fire (emergence of a tight grouping of buildings, “špalíček,“ in place of the cemetery). rotunda.pano3d.cz

Preservation Project of St. Wenceslas Rotunda at the Lesser Town Square in Prague 1628 – parish church (Ferdinand II presents St. Nicholas Church to the Jesuits). 1630 – redevelopment (expansion of the church under the condition that the rotunda should be preserved, minutes of the city council – “the oldest monument in the city”). 1673 – permission to build the Professed House (single big building replacing the grouping of smaller houses and the Gothic St. Nicholas Church) next to St. Wenceslas “chapel”. rotunda.pano3d.cz

Preservation Project of St. Wenceslas Rotunda at the Lesser Town Square in Prague 1784 – interior reconstruction (for administrative purposes) => High Provincial Court. 1930s – property of the Ministry of Finance of the Czechoslovak Republic – redevelopment. WWII – Schutzstaffel (SS) offices. 1960 – Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (Math-Phys), Charles University. 2000 – 2006 – reconstruction work on the building. rotunda.pano3d.cz

Final building approval of construction and restoration – 28 June 2016. 18 inspection days at the construction site. 4 Monitoring reports, 1 Annual report.
