Please remind your student(s) to bring their Living Museum book to and from school every single day!

3. Storyboards (Nancy Fetzer) Due Friday, December 16th!
Students have been assigned to complete one organizer for each chapter of their Living Museum Book.
Number of chapters vary by book 
As students fill out the Nancy Fetzer Organizer, they should be saying it aloud. By the time they get to the summary, they should be able to recite it as they are writing.
1 sentence for the setting (time and a place) and the subject
1 sentence about the Big Idea (which is what all your details are about!)
1 detailed complex sentence
1 drawing
Restate the main idea using synonyms! End it with a snap.

4. Speeches
Students will write a 2-minute speech that summarizes the life of their character.
Students should review their storyboard summaries and use them as a guide to write their speeches
Storyboard Summary Speech
A 2-minute speech is about 2-3 pages
Students will need to complete their final draft of their typed speech by Friday, January 13 and have it memorized by Friday, January 27th.

5. Project Board Timeline:
Timeline scale must be organized and neat. Select events from your character’s life.
Events must be typed (3 sentence maximum) in the format on Google Classroom.
Each event must have a picture (Google images are fine!)
Refer to page in your Social Studies textbook for an example.
Due Date: Friday, February 3rd.

6. Project Board G.A.T.E. Frame:
Big Idea: Why is this character important in history
Details: Where and when were they born? What M.I. would your character have? What was their childhood like? Number of family members and names? 2 important facts about the character.
Relate Over Time: How does your character relate to the past and the future?
Unanswered Questions: If you could interview your character, what are 5 questions you would ask them?
Due Date: Friday, February 10th

7. Project Board Caricature:
Head: Needs to be 2 times as large as the body
Body: Needs to be half the size of the head
Color: Caricature must be colored using colored pencils with appropriate skin tones
Accessorize: Don’t forget to include your character’s favorite accessories!
Background: The background should represent the time period
The overall display must be vibrant and organized. In addition, students will bring in props to decorate their presentation area.
Due Date: Friday, February 17th

8. Character Busts
Students will be creating their very own character busts. This project will be completed in class and is a student based project. Parents may help with ideas to decorate their busts, however, the majority of the work needs to be completed by the STUDENT.
Busts
Paint skin color, eye color, eye lashes, makeup
Glue hair or hair accessory (hat, bows, helmet, toupee?) onto masks
Students must include at least one accessory that represents their character
For example, Walt Disney’s mask may include Mickey ears
Due Date : Wednesday, February 22nd

9. Character Costumes Homemade costumes are our favorite
Many 4th – 6th grade students are willing to donate their costumes from previous years (there are some students in other 3rd grade classes who may have the same character. Sharing is caring!) 
Work smarter not harder
Last resort: Amazon!
Wigs, facial hair, and accessories are recommended!
Due Date: Thursday, February 23rd

10. Volunteer Opportunities
Fridays will be our main Living Museum project day! (This day of the week is subject to change)
We would like 5-8 parents per class each Friday. Please contact your professor if you would like to volunteer!
As we begin to glue items onto our busts, we will definitely need more parents. Your professor will keep you posted.
Anyone who is good at airbrushing, please let your professor know to help us with the painting of the busts.
Set up and tear down we will need all hands on deck to build and decorate our Living Museum in Honour Hall and then organize and pack everything up for next year!

11. Committees
Hospitality Committee: In charge of organizing food, snacks, and lunch for the day of the event as well as organizing the cast party for your university. Presentation Boards and Frames Committee: In charge of assisting students with placing items on their boards. This includes cutting out and placing on timeline strip. Name Plate and Labels: In charge of cutting out character names for poster boards. Invitations and Programs Committee: Create invitations and programs for the Living Museum. (Print, assemble, hand out)

12. Committees Photography Committee:
Take pictures of the process and make a end of Living Museum video. Also, individual pictures of each student in their costumes, printed, and framed for display.
Prep and Decorating Committee:
Gather items and decorate Honour Hall. (This will require the most parent help!)
Clean Up Committee:
Clean up at the end of the day of your event. Also, help clean up at the end of all of the events.
