1 How Will Work Be Assessed?
GCSE ICT OCR Nationals Option ICT Pupils who have taken ICT as an option follow the OCR Nationals Level 2 qualification    How Will Work Be Assessed? Pupils will have 2 hours a week timetabled for this course. All work is centre assessed and is externally moderated by a visiting moderator, there is no external assessment. The Course is graded Distinction, Merit, Pass, Fail. The Course is 100% coursework.

2 Unit 1 Skills for Business - 60 Hours
GCSE ICT OCR Nationals Unit 1 Skills for Business - 60 Hours This is a 60 hour compulsory Unit which covers work related skills in ICT, creating business documents for clients such as Business Cards, Mail Merge Letters, Leaflets, Newsletters, Spreadsheet and Database skills along with skills and good working practices in saving, naming and protecting files and folders.  Example Business Documents Created

3 Unit 1 Skills for Business - 60 Hours
GCSE ICT OCR Nationals Unit 1 Skills for Business - 60 Hours There are SIX assessment objectives in total. All 6 must be completed to a Pass level or above in order to achieve a Pass or above overall. Pupils in Year 11 are at present responding to feedback on this Unit.  The final deadline for submitting previously unfinished and improved assessment objectives is December 8th 2008 Pupils who have not completed and submitted work in full or pupils who have not done enough to achieve a Pass overall will be expected to attend coursework catch up sessions in school and will not receive study leave.

4 Creating Computer Graphics
GCSE ICT OCR Nationals Optional Units To gain one GCSE, pupils will top up their 60 hour Skills for Business Unit with a 30 Hour unit on: Creating Computer Graphics This unit again has SIX assessment objectives, all of which must be completed to a Pass or above in order to achieve a pass overall. This unit focuses on understanding web graphics and creating a range of web graphics such as navigation bars, web buttons, banners and presenting these to a client. Teaching for this unit will begin in January 2009 and must be submitted by March 20th Pupils will be given the opportunity to improve their work on both units before final marks are sent to the moderator in May.
