2 Forms of Gustar (A mí) Me gusta… = I like it/ I like to… Me gusta la casa Me gusta jugar Me gusta practicar y jugar (A mí) Me gustan… = I like them Me gustan los gatos Me gustan el perro y el gato (one noun – singular) / I like to… (1 or more verbs) Literally means It is pleasing to me. (2 or more nouns - plural) Literally means They are pleasing to me.

3 Gustar + Nouns (pg. 145) Singular: Plural: Me gusta la sopa
Soup is pleasing to me Nos gusta la sopa Soup is pleasing to us Te gusta la sopa Soup is pleasing to you Os gusta la sopa Soup is pleasing to y’all Le gusta la sopa Soup is pleasing to him/her/Ud. Les gusta la sopa Soup is pleasing to them/Uds. Me gustan los gatos Cats are pleasing to me Nos gustan los gatos Cats are pleasing to us Te gustan los gatos Cats are pleasing to you Os gustan los gatos Cats are pleasing to y’all Le gustan los gatos Cats are pleasing to him/her/Ud. Les gustan los gatos Cats are pleasing to them/Uds.

4 Gustar + Nouns Me gusta la fruta Me gustan las clases. Me gusta el gato. Me gustan el gato y el perro. = Fruit is pleasing to me. = The classes are pleasing to me = The cat is pleasing to me. = The cat and the dog are pleasing to me.

5 NO Gustar + Nouns To say you do NOT like something, add No right before IOP & gustar: No me gustan las vacas. A mí no me gusta el café. To say you do NOT like more than one thing that you are listing, use “neither/nor  ni” instead of “and  y”: No me gustan las vacas ni los unicornios. A mí no me gusta el café ni el té

6 You try: Tell if you like or don’t like the following
Los iPhones la música de Fetty Wap las princesas Ana y Elsa Instagram Me gustan los iPhones No me gusta la música de Fetty Wap Me gustan las princesas Ana y Elsa No me gusta Instagram.

7 GUSTAR + Infinitives Use “gusta” for infinitives (unconjugated verbs)
Me gusta jugar Black-Ops No me gusta leer libros de matemáticas Even if you add more verbs in: Me gusta practicar los deportes y pasar un rato con amigos. Still use “gusta” (singular because we’re talking about action, not things

8 NO Gustar + Infinitives
Again, to say you do NOT like something, add “no” right before IOP and gustar: No me gusta correr To say you do NOT like more than one action that you are listing, use “neither/nor  ni” instead of “and  y”: No me gusta correr ni estudiar Still use “gusta” (singular because we’re talking about action, not things)
