The Rise of Technology in the United States from 1800’s -20th Century and explain how people’s lives changed as a result of technology. The Rise Technology
2
Technology has changed the world in many ways, and it’s still changing the world today. From the beginning of time to now technology keeps growing faster by the day. Back in the 1860’s there was hardly any kind of technology or material things to help with everyday life, work, and school.

There were many women and children labors
There were many women and children labors. Due to the lack of technology they had to do the hard labor. Children did not attend school very much because they were made to work. It was more important for them to work than it was for them to get and education.
4
In % of clerical workers were women; by 1920 the figure was 50%, but women could not get management positions. Although middle class married women were able to stay at home, among the poor, women and children had to work. The more technology advanced the more education became important and women didn’t have to work as much.
5
Industrial safety was a large issue: factory work was very dangerous, and it was difficult if not impossible to hold factory owners responsible for deaths and injuries. Around ,000 deaths and 1 million injuries per year occurred on industrial jobs. Many of the deaths occurred on railroad jobs, which were especially dangerous. Fires, machinery accidents, train wrecks and other misfortunes were common.
6
The invention of machines was great for all factory workers and railroads. The telephone and televisions were great inventions for people to for entertainment and communications.
7
An explosion of new discoveries and inventions took place, causing such profound changes that some termed the results a "second industrial revolution." Oil was discovered in western Pennsylvania. The typewriter was developed. Refrigeration railroad cars came into use. The telephone, phonograph, and electric light were invented.
8
By the dawn of the 20th century, cars were replacing carriages and people were flying in airplanes. As the American economy matured in the 20th century it just kept growing rapidly. The crucial change came with the emergence of the corporation, which appeared first in the railroad industry and then elsewhere. Business barons were replaced by "technocrats," high-salaried managers who became the heads of corporations. The rise of the corporation triggered, in turn, the rise of an organized labor movement that served as a countervailing force to the power and influence of business.
9
The technological revolution of the 1980s and 1990s brought a new entrepreneurial culture that echoes of the age of tycoons. Bill Gates, the head of Microsoft, built an immense fortune developing and selling computer software. When computers started being invented the technological world took off even faster and is steadily growing even today.
10
Technology advancing was very good for society because the more it advanced it the more people cared about other safety and even education. The people of these days only cared about how to get work done. The more technology advanced the less physical labor was needed so they took more time to care about the workers and their well-being. Technology was and still is a great thing for everyone in society. Technology will continue to grow more by the day.

Technology in the Mid-Ninties
. In the mid-ninties technology was really starting to pick up, and grow. In 1990 the World Wide Web was invented by Time Berners-Lee. The use of computers was becoming more poplar, there was more people learning about using the what was called the World Wide Web back then. There things called pagers, they were used to call someone that wasn’t home and it would put your number in there to let the person know to call you back. There were also hand held gaming devices and tape players

MID-NINTIES During the mid-ninties computers became more popular in schools, the students were being introduced to computes, how to type and how they worked. At this time you could store information on what was called a floppy disc and it’s how you played games and got Windows 95.
13
Technology in 2000 At the beginning of the year 2000, technology was really taking off. After the Y2K scare was over. The Y2K scare was that supposedly the world was going to have a black out when it turned the year and all computers and the technology we had at them time would crash because they did not know if the computers and technology would be able to switch to that year. This was called the millennium bug, and people around the world were scared, it was going to be the end of the world.
14
Technology in the mid 20th Century
After the Y2K was not an issue, technology really took off. There were flip phones, then touch screen cell phones, the internet with google search, and computers were more light weight and compatible. There were also I pods and social media was beginning to start. First My Space was a popular social media site and then Facebook became popular.
15
Technology today In todays world of technology there are new things daily, it is rapidly growing. There are touch screen phones, touch screen computers, touch screen laptops, mp3 players, touch screen radios in vehicles and many more new things that society is growing equip to. Social media is a big part of the world, people communicate more on social media than they do face to face.
