1 God’s Pipeline To Tomorrow

2 Your One Day of Recognition 
Happy Father’s Day ! Your One Day of Recognition 

3 Were it not for the merchants we would probably unite Fathers and
Mothers Days into Parent’s Day. Ephesians 6: 1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

4 The strength of the church depends upon the strength of the families in it.

5 I. God’s plan is for fathers to
pass down His precepts through the generations.

6 Deuteronomy 6: 6-7 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

7 with the young about God. Many Americans men have lost
God commands that we openly talk with the young about God.   Many Americans men have lost the ability to talk about God.

8 They are like weeds. American children grow up with lives that are independent of their family.

9 II. Teaching with diligence
is challenging for us all.

10 Teaching with diligence requires that it be made a priority.
Life is busy, but earth is temporary.

11 No matter how important something on this earth may seem, it’s only temporary.
Mark 8: 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?

12 Teaching our children God’s word diligently takes persistence.
Proverbs 22: 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it. “Clean their room!”

13 Ephesians 6: 10-12 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

14 III. Teaching with diligence
requires consistency.

15 As we noted, athletes and the military
never stops training and practicing.

16   The scriptures teach us the
importance of continual reminders.

17 I Corinthians 11: 24-25 … when He ( Jesus ) had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."

18 II Peter 3: 1-2 This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, 2 that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles.

19 Romans 15: 15-16 But I have written very boldly to you on some points so as to remind you again, because of the grace that was given me from God, 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, …

20 The training of a child should start at a very early age.

21 bending the child’s will to conform to a standard.
IV. Training a child involves bending the child’s will to conform to a standard.

22 The scriptures command that parents train their children, NOT just teach them.
Proverbs 22: 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

23 Training up a child involves disciple which bears positive fruit for God.

24 Hebrews 12: 5-11 … you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, "My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the lord, Nor faint when you are reproved by him; 6 for those whom the lord loves he disciplines, And he scourges every son whom he receives." 7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there … Continued …

25 Hebrews 12: 5-11 … Continuation
whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as … Continued …

26 Hebrews 12: 5-11 … Continuation
seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. 11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

27 The disciplining of a child must flow from love for God and for the child.
Proverbs 13: 24 – He who withholds his correction hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

28 Discipline must be administered in a way that the child ultimately perceives as just.
Ephesians 6: 4 – Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

29 Clearly the church of tomorrow is in the hands of fathers today.
Are we being responsible stewards of the kingdom ?

30 Remember His sacrifice for us.

31 Happy Father’s Day
