1 SUPERFLEX HOMOGENEOUS VINYL TILES & SHEETING

2 INTRODUCTION Homogeneous vinyl flooring has a uniform structure and composition from the top to the bottom as there is no separate backing layer The manufacturing process results in a compact single layer product available in semi- flexible and fully-flexible composition structures FloorworX offers a wide range of locally produced and imported homogeneous flooring options, which includes Superflex: a fully-flexible, locally manufactured vinyl tile & sheeting range Fully-flexible vinyl floor sheeting and tiles available in 2 gauges and a range of 16 standard colours. Superflex combines a distinctive yet forgiving marble effect with high standards of performance in terms of durability

3 BENEFITS SUPERFLEX_ Durable SANS 786 mark bearing
Group M abrasion resistance rating Matching welding rod available in 50lm rolls 100% recyclable 56% natural Low carbon footprint Locally manufactured

4 INSTALLATION Superflex should be installed in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations Sub-floors must be smooth, hard, clean, and dry before laying commences Uneven, solid or suspended timber floors may need preparation to meet the required standard. In case of direct to earth concrete, a damp proof membrane must be incorporated into the sub-floor Superflex tiles must be allowed to relax for 24 hours in a uniform room temperature between 18°C and 27°C prior to installation All sub-floors must be tested for moisture content prior to installation The recommended adhesive for Superflex sheeting and tiles is FloorworX No. 62 acrylic adhesive Superflex sheeting must be hot seam welded using FloorworX Welding Rod. It is essential that during the course of installation the material be rolled in both directions with an articulated 68kg three section metal floor roller.

5 SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION
SUPERFLEX SHEETING_ Supply and fix 2.0mm/2.5mm thick x 1.2m wide Superflex fully-flexible vinyl sheeting, manufactured in accordance with SANS 786 and laid in FloorworX No. 62 acrylic adhesive which has been spread using a trowel fitted with an A2 notched blade at a rate of between 5.5m2 and 6.5m2 per litre on a previously prepared Class 1 sub-floor in accordance with SANS 10070, using FloorworX Self Leveller when required, including all cutting and waste The sheeting must be rolled in both directions with an articulated 68kg three-sectional roller immediately after it has been laid into the adhesive Joins must be butted, grooved and heat welded using FloorworX Welding Rod, ensuring that the welding rod bonds to more than 70% of the sheet thickness The newly laid floor must, after 72 hours, be stripped using FloorworX Stripper, scrubbed using a diluted solution of FloorworX Rinse and then sealed with 3 coats of FloorworX Silk Matt or Gloss Sealer.

6 SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION
SUPERFLEX TILES_ Supply and fix 2.0mm/2.5mm thick x 300mm x 300mm Superflex fully-flexible vinyl tiles, manufactured in accordance with SANS 786 and laid in FloorworX No. 62 acrylic adhesive which has been spread using a trowel fitted with an A2 notched blade at a rate of between 5.5m2 and 6.5m2 per litre on a previously prepared Class 1 sub-floor in accordance with SANS 10070, using FloorworX Self Leveller when required, including all cutting and waste The flooring must be rolled in both directions with an articulated 68kg three-sectional roller immediately after it has been laid into the adhesive The newly laid floor must, after 72 hours, be stripped using FloorworX Stripper, scrubbed using a diluted solution of FloorworX Rinse and then sealed with 3 coats of FloorworX Silk Matt or Gloss Sealer

7 WARRANTY FloorworX offers a 5 year limited warranty, subject to our terms and conditions, against defective material provided that it is installed and maintained in accordance with our recommendations

8 MAINTENANCE PREVENTIVE_
Approximately 80% of the dirt and soiling that has to be cleaned off a floor has been trafficked in from outside the building More than 90% of that soiling can be avoided by the use of an effective entrance matting system. When less dirt is trafficked through the entrance there will be a reduction in maintenance requirements Regular cleaning is more cost-effective and hygienic than occasional heavy-duty cleaning Wipe up any grease and oil spills immediately and treat stains as soon as they are observed Black rubber wheels and rubber furniture feet can discolour the floorcovering. Hard plastic is preferred. Always follow the manufacturer’s dosage instructions regarding the use of cleaning chemicals.

9 POST-INSTALLATION SITE CLEAN_
MAINTENANCE POST-INSTALLATION SITE CLEAN_ Floor maintenance begins immediately after the completion of installation The initial step is to remove any loose dirt or debris using a dry mop, broom or vacuum Sand, construction debris and sharp-edged objects may result in irreparable damage being inflicted to the new floor Remove any visible adhesive residue using a damp cloth. Once the adhesive has cured it will be difficult to remove If other trades are working in the building after the installation of the flooring, the floor must be protected from subsequent damage by the use of thick paper, cardboard or hard board No wet maintenance must take place until 72 hours (3 days) have elapsed from the time of installation (this is to ensure that the adhesive has sufficient time to cure properly and develop full bond strength)

10 INITIAL STRIP AND SEAL_
MAINTENANCE INITIAL STRIP AND SEAL_ Dust mop or vacuum the floor to remove loose soil and dust Dilute FloorworX Stripper 1:5 with clean water in a suitable container Apply the diluted FloorworX Stripper solution to the floor using a flat mop and leave for a few minutes before scrubbing with an automatic scrubbing machine or a rotary machine fitted with a black pad Do not flood the floor and do not allow the stripper residue to dry on the floor Remove the residue immediately after scrubbing using a wet/dry vacuum Rinse the floor using a solution of FloorworX Rinse diluted 1:10 with clean water by means of a flat mop to neutralise the FloorworX Stripper and remove any residue using a wet/dry vacuum

11 INITIAL STRIP AND SEAL_
MAINTENANCE INITIAL STRIP AND SEAL_ Rinse the floor again using clean water and a flat mop and, after removing any visible moisture using a wet/dry vacuum, allow sufficient time for the floor to dry thoroughly Using a lambswool applicator, apply a thin, even coating of FloorworX Silk Matt or Gloss Sealer at a rate of 20m2 per litre. Allow sufficient time for the coating to dry thoroughly Apply the 2nd coat of FloorworX Silk Matt or Gloss Sealer at right angles to the initial coat and allow sufficient time to dry thoroughly. Ensure that the floor is not trafficked between coats Apply the 3rd and final coat of FloorworX Silk Matt or Gloss Sealer at right angles to the previous coat and allow sufficient time to dry thoroughly Once the initial strip and seal process is complete, ensure that the mops, pads and lambswool applicators are rinsed thoroughly in warm water and allowed to dry for re-use

12 MAINTENANCE REGULAR CLEANING
Dust mop with flat mop or vacuum on a daily basis to remove dust and loose dirt Damp mop the floor weekly with flat mop using a solution of FloorworX Maintain diluted 1:100 with clean water, ensuring that the mop is not too wet as it will leave smear traces Scrub as required, using a solution of FloorworX Maintain diluted 1:10 with clean water, with a rotary machine fitted with a blue pad Rinse with clean water using a flat mop Apply FloorworX Spray Buff in a fine stream or mist onto the floor in front of a rotary machine fitted with a red pad and work in until dry The FloorworX Spray Buff assists in maintaining a smooth surface and constant level of gloss while extending the time between stripping and re-sealing operations

13 BI-ANNUAL / ANNUAL STRIP AND RE-SEAL_
MAINTENANCE BI-ANNUAL / ANNUAL STRIP AND RE-SEAL_ When the coating of sealer has become worn to the extent that regular maintenance cannot improve its appearance, the floor must be stripped and re-sealed The frequency of this requirement depends on a number of factors, including the effectiveness of the entrance matting, the amount of traffic and the quality of the regular maintenance procedures Dilute FloorworX Stripper 1:5 with clean water in a suitable container Apply the diluted FloorworX Stripper solution to an area of approximately 10m2 of the floor using a flat mop and leave for a few minutes to soften the coating before scrubbing with an automatic scrubbing machine or a rotary machine fitted with a black pad Do not flood the area and do not allow the stripping solution to dry on the floor Remove the residue immediately after scrubbing using a wet/dry vacuum

14 BI-ANNUAL / ANNUAL STRIP AND RE-SEAL_
MAINTENANCE BI-ANNUAL / ANNUAL STRIP AND RE-SEAL_ Rinse the 10m2 area of floor using a solution of FloorworX Rinse diluted 1:10 with clean water by means of a flat mop to neutralise the FloorworX Stripper and remove any residue using a wet/dry vacuum Once the initial 10m2 area has been stripped and rinsed, proceed to the next 10m2 area and repeat the process until the entire floor has been stripped and rinsed Rinse the entire floor again using clean water and a flat mop and, after removing any visible moisture using a wet/dry vacuum, allow sufficient time for the floor to dry thoroughly Using a lambswool applicator, apply a thin, even coating of FloorworX Silk Matt or Gloss Sealer at a rate of 20m2 per litre. Allow sufficient time for the coating to dry thoroughly Apply the 2nd coat of FloorworX Silk Matt or Gloss Sealer at right angles to the initial coat and allow sufficient time to dry thoroughly Ensure that the floor is not trafficked between coats.

15 BI-ANNUAL / ANNUAL STRIP AND RE-SEAL_
MAINTENANCE BI-ANNUAL / ANNUAL STRIP AND RE-SEAL_ Apply the 3rd and final coat of FloorworX Silk Matt or Gloss Sealer at right angles to the previous coat and allow sufficient time to dry thoroughly Once the initial strip and seal process is complete, ensure that the mops, pads and lambswool applicators are rinsed thoroughly in warm water and allowed to dry for re-use
