Note: Fernco/Plumbquick Rubbers are not recommended for use in Geberit installations.

11. Geberit Butt Welding
40mm to 160mm can be joined using the Geberit “Media” welder.
Also from 40mm to 315mm the “Universal” welder can be used.
50mm, 56mm 63mm & 75mm can be welded by hand using the Geberit heat plate and stand

12. Geberit Electrofusion Welding
The “Blue E/F Machine” can join up to 160mm Geberit, providing the power source is 240V mains power.
200mm, 250mm & 315mm must be fused with the Geberit Start Switch. Centering Rings are also required. Bubble Wrap must remain on until completely cooled.

13. Geberit Electrofusion Techniques
Before inserting pipes and fittings into an E/F coupling, they must be cleaned to remove the layer of oxidation that builds up on the surface of the HDPE material.
Up to 125 mm can be cleaned with course sandpaper (80 grit or above) or emery cloth.
160mm and above must be scraped (with a paint scraper or equivalent).
