Radio Security If lost or missing radios can be: "Stunned" Temporarily disabled over the air. Easily re-enabled over the air if found. “Killed" Disabled over the air but requires reprogramming if found Explain that the procedures for lost or stolen radios. Explain the difference between a Stun and a Kill. Stun – Temporary disabled over the air. Can be done by a dispatcher or other network user. Can be re-enabled over the air. If the radio is switched off when stunned, it will be stunned the moment it switches on and tries to register to the network. Can be re-enabled over the air. When stunned a radio cannot be switched on and becomes a “paper-weight” Kill – The radio is “killed” in the same way as a stun but cannot be re-enabled over the air. Encryption keys are erased and the radio must be returned for re-programming. Participant Guide 1-1

The display shows additional information while the MTP850S is registering on the system. PIN number must be entered Powering Off Press and hold the On-Off/End/Home key. You will hear an audible beep and see the Powering Off message Demonstrate procedure, allow delegates to carry out the procedure Point out that radios will have a PIN allocated of 0000. Point out that after 5 wrong attempts the radio will lock and the user will need to contact the helpdesk for assistance.
