How could it be improved? What theory or model was used in the paper? Provide a brief Summary. What method/procedure was employed to answer the research question? Was the method/procedure was employed to answer the research appropriate? Why? Describe the data used in the empirical analysis. Was the conclusion of the paper relevant to the research question? Did the conclusion of the paper follow logically from the methods used? In your opinion what kind of research should follow from this paper? 5 Write a 15 page paper describing the general growth and development experience of a developing country of your choice. In discussing the performance of your country identify and explain whether if there is development it can be attributed to growth. Otherwise present an argument why there is either no development or development without growth. As an indicator of development, you may use data on the Human Development Index of the HDI over time. Comparison of the country’s HDI to traditional income-based measures of growth such as PPP adjusted GDP per capita of the same countries and nearby countries should provide useful insights into the reasons for development or lack thereof. The essay should reference at least 2 refereed academic journal articles and should at a minimum provide descriptions (descriptive statistics) and charts of the data used.
