“THE FILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT”
2
CENTRAL FOR OUR MATURITY.
3
CENTRAL FOR OUR SERVICE.
4
WHY DOES IT MATTER? John 7:37-39
(Promise)

37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and
6
drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
7
39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not
8
been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
9

4 In order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but

18
those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
6 For to set the mind on the flesh is
19
death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
20
We live a Christ-like sensitive life.
Christ-like character is being produced. Galatians 5:22-23
21
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control;
22
against such things there is no law.
23
We are marked by liberty and freedom. 1 Corinthians 3:17

25
We are marked by liberty and freedom.
There is worship and praise Ephesians 5:18-20
26
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms
27
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and
28
for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
29
We are marked by liberty and freedom.
There is worship and praise. Witness and service. Acts 1:8
30
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem
31
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
32
WHAT STOPS THE FLOW? (Conditions)
