Worship Through Instruction Colossians 4:16
16 Now when this epistle is read among you, see that it is read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

Worship Through Instruction
What is Instruction? (preaching/teaching)
7
Preaching Defined In its strictest sense, is the public use of speech with intent to reveal God to man. The communication of a message by man to man. The revelation of God’s will for man, by man, to man. 1 Corinthians 4:7 - But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
8
Preaching Defined Κηρύσσω – kēryssō – “to proclaim as a herald” (Matthew 11:1; Romans 10:15) Εὐαγγελίζω – euangelizō – “to tell the good news” (1 Corinthians 1:17; Galatians 1:8)
9
Preaching Defined Καταγγέλλω – katangellō – “to tell thoroughly” (Acts 4:2; Colossians 1:28) Λαλέω – laleō – “to talk” (Acts 11:19; 14:25)
10
the Preacher is: A man under orders. A man whose life is consistent with his message. 1 Timothy 4:16 - Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

What is Instruction? (preaching/teaching) Importance of Instruction. (preaching/teaching)
12
Importance of Preaching
Think about all the preachers in the Bible: Noah Moses The Prophets Jesus The Apostles
13
Importance of Preaching
The Great Commission calls for Preachers (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16) 1 Corinthians 1:21 - For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
14
Importance of Preaching
Romans 10: How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"
15
Preaching Produces Faith
Romans 10:17 - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 1 Corinthians 15: Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain.
16
Preaching Regenerates Man
Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 1 Peter 1:23 - having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
17
Preaching Regenerates Man
John 6:63 - It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 1 Peter 2:1-2 - Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
18
Objective of Preaching
Colossians 1: Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
19
Works of Preaching 2 Timothy 3: and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Worship Through Instruction
What is Instruction? (preaching/teaching) Importance of Instruction. (preaching/teaching) Responsibility of the Listeners.
21
Listeners Responsibility
Acts 17:11 - These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
22
Listeners Responsibility
Luke 8:18 - Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him." Psalm 119:97 - Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
23
Listeners Responsibility
Luke 8:18 - Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him." Psalm 119:97 - Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. Mark 4:24 - Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.
24
Conclusion We MUST be preaching people. How do you act when Instruction in God’s Word begins? Are you paying attention or thinking about what's for lunch?
