4. AATCVS – African Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons
The AATCVS is the African Continental Society of Surgeons and the other Doctors that work on the heart, blood vessels and the chest. The African Continental Association of all Heart and Thoracic Surgeons will have this year’s Congress for the first time in Nigeria in September, The Congress has been brought down to Enugu from September 11th to 15th, 2017.
Coincidentally, this year mark the 50years anniversary of the first HUMAN TO HUMAN HEART TRANSPLANT – performed in South African by one of our past member – Prof. Christiaan Barnard – on 3rd December, We will have a special anniversary programme during the conference.
WE will have many surgeons and cardiologists from all over African in Nigeria this September. Members will come from South African, Egypt, Morroco, Tunisia, Libya and all sub-Saharan African countries.

Since it is 50 years after the first heart transplant in Africa, the Honorable Minister would help us raise 200 million naira to fund the first heart transplant in Nigeria---history is going to be made
Raise funds for sustained open heart open heart surgery in Nigeria cases per year---for 5 years -- at 1.8 million each million naira
