Allows students with previous art experience to work at their level and be challenged
It is an accelerated program for 6th and 7th grade
It is an enrichment program for 8th grade

3. Order of Primera Art Classes
Beginning Art (6th)
Drawing & Painting (7th)
Pottery & Sculpture(7th)
Mixed Media (8th)
3D Advanced Art (8th)

4. Bonus for Primera Students!
Traditionally 7th grade students can only choose 2 semester electives (for example: Band is a 2 semester elective, Art is a 1 semester elective)
PRIMERA students are allowed to choose 4 semester electives (as long as they are all Primera classes)
For example, a student could take
2 semesters of Orchestra, and 2 semesters of Art (Drawing and Painting and Pottery and Sculpture) OR
2 semesters of Spanish and 2 semesters of Art
2 semesters of Music and 2 semesters of Spanish

5. Portfolio
Portfolios are required for any students who have not attended Pioneer (just to make sure we will be a good fit)
ELECTRONIC PORTFOLIOS ARE ENCOURAGED
Take pictures of the artworks, create a powerpoint, and send as an attachment in an to:
