Understanding Your Child’s Curriculum
S.T.E.A.M. “A curriculum based on the idea of educating students in five specific disciplines- science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics. S.T.E.A.M. education focuses on the introductory level S.T.E.A.M. courses, as well as awareness of the S.T.E.A.M. fields and occupations. This initial step provides standards-based structured inquiry-based and real world problem-based learning, connecting all five of the S.T.E.A.M. subjects. The goal is to pique students' interest into them wanting to pursue the courses, not because they have to. There is also an emphasis placed on bridging in- school and out-of-school S.T.E.A.M. learning opportunities.” Project-Based Learning “Project-based learning is a dynamic approach to teaching in which students explore real- world problems and challenges. With this type of active and engaged learning, students are inspired to obtain a deeper knowledge of the subjects they're studying.”
