6. Throughout Theodore Roosevelt’s (TR’s) presidency, many of his actions showed that he believed the president should act in the interest of the public.

7. TR believed in consumer protection and pushed for the passage of the Meat Inspection Act and Pure Food and Drug Act in 1906.
