Daoists stressed that the ways of nature and the virtue of yielding.
Water doesn’t resist, but it yields to outside pressure– yet it’s unstoppable.

The best government was one that governed the least.

11. Blending the Two
Daoism started becoming a religion with gods, goddesses, and magical practices.
People started taking beliefs from Daoism and Confucianism and merging them.
Confucianism showed people to behave.
Daoism influenced the view of the natural world.
