Parent Access Want to know your student’s Grades Attendance
Teacher’s Info Sign up for Parent Access when school starts. Bring ID to Information Specialist for a user id.

To earn a High School Diploma, you must do the following things…
Earn 24 credit units in all required areas. Students are required to pass all required courses, End-of-Course Tests (EOCT) would now count 20% of a student's final grade. Must complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service by the end of his/her Junior year.

End of Course Assessments
Counts 20% of the final grade for the course with this being waived for the school year. Instead a final exam grade will count 20% even though these tests will still be completed. Areas Tested: Ninth Literature/Composition American Literature/Composition CCGPS Algebra or Accelerated Course CCGPS Geometry or Accelerated Course Physical Science Biology United States History Economics

Plan of Study: Being a Pathway Completer
All students are strongly encouraged to select a Plan of Study/Pathway and complete a sequence of 3 courses in one of the following areas: CTAE Advanced Academics Fine Arts World Language Woodville Tompkins has a wide variety of state recognized programs. Students are encouraged to complete as many pathways as possible.

HOPE Scholarship Currently, the HOPE scholarship is determined by the calculation of all academic core courses that the student has taken and completed (grades 9-12). Class of 2018 students need four (4) additional “rigorous” academic courses to qualify for the HOPE Scholarship. Both passing and failing grades in the core courses count Changes in the eligibility guidelines are posted and updated on the GACollege411 website (There are often annual changes in HOPE Scholarship regulations.) Remember to monitor your HOPE GPA throughout high school via your 411 account.

HOPE Scholarship Rigorous Course List
Students must continually review that a minimum of 4 rigorous courses from the 3-page document on the GACollege411 website below are completed in order to be eligible for the HOPE Scholarship. The chart below is an example of the top of the first page. The information lists course type, course number and course title:

Changes to HOPE Scholarship www.gacollege411
GRADUATING ON OR AFTER May 2015 STUDENTS MUST RECEIVE TWO CREDITS IN THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF COURSES 1) Advanced math, such as Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry, Math III, or an equivalent or higher course; 2) Advanced science, such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology II, or an equivalent or higher course; 3) Advanced placement courses in core subjects; 4) International baccalaureate courses in core subjects; 5) Courses taken at a unit of the University System of Georgia in core subjects where such courses are not remedial and developmental courses; or 6) Advanced foreign language courses.

Quality of academic program you have taken - Have you challenged yourself? The academic rigor of your high school courses is an important factor in the college admission process. College admission officers see your high school course schedule as a blueprint of your education. They're looking for a solid foundation of learning that you can build on in college.
