2. 75,600 Minute School Year
In addition to school reporting the Number of Days Taught on the BasicReportingPeriodAttendanceExtension, schools will report the number of School Day Operational Minutes, for each day student instruction is offered, on the CalendarDateExtension.
All classroom time (minutes) offered from the first instructional bell to the last instructional bell count toward the 75,600 minutes requirements. This includes intermissions, recess, and in class breakfast.

3. CalendarDateExtension
The CalendarDateExtension type represents a day in the school calendar.
The collection of the data on the CalendarDateExtension Sub-Category is limited to the days that students are planned to attend school and the days that are sub-planted with a waiver and the students do not actually attend school either for a partial day or a full day. Do not report school holidays, such as spring break, weekends, or any other time that staff and students are not expected to be at school. Do not include staff work days that are not related to exercising the option of using a staff development waiver in lieu of a student instruction day.

Schools are still able to obtain a variety of waivers from the Texas Education Agency.
Staff Development Waiver Day (General/3 days, Subject Area/2 days)
Missed School Waiver Day (first two days must be made up)
Shortened Waiver Day (Early Release Day)
Low Attendance Waiver Day (10% below previous year)
Other Waiver Day (PK, Health or Safety)
The maximum value of a school day that is waived is 420 minutes.

9. PK Campus Only or PK Track
Each PK group (am and pm) must have 37,800 minutes (including recess and in-class breakfast) for the school year.
For the 2016 – 2017 school year, districts and charter schools will be automatically granted a waiver by TEA. No application for this waiver is necessary.
However, districts and charter schools must setup their PK calendars for 37,800 minutes using the 99: Other Wavier Day event code.

2017 – 2018 Prekindergarten
In addition to requiring 120 minutes (2 hrs) of daily classroom time, prekindergarten programs will be required to operate for 37,800 minutes per year to qualify for half-day FSP funding for the 2017 – 2018 school year. Funding will be reduced in proportion to the number of minutes below 37,800 minutes beginning with the 2017 – 2018 school year, for prekindergarten programs that fall short of 37,800 minutes of operation.
120 minutes (2 hours) x 180 days = 21,600 minutes
210 minutes (3.5 hours) x 180 = 37,800 minutes (students still coded 2)

13. Tracks Multiple Tracks
Next year campuses will need to enter ½ Day PK programs (AM and PM) on individual tracks. This will allow the campus to enter minutes on the calendar for each track and to submit attendance appropriately when afternoon classes are canceled due to health and safety issues.
